My parents came down to visit for Thanksgiving and Bead Bum made a couple bracelets with blue crystals, shell beads, and glass beads. The metal spacers are silver. I have hers showcased here.

My Inspiration

My mother, Bead Bum, as she calls herself, has been a great inspiration to me. As in the tradition of mothers, she dragged me all over the place as a young girl, showing me beads, clicking them on her teeth. "Natalie," she'd say, "you can tell these are metal, hear that? Oh and these....these are glass, hear that tinking noise they make? Oh and those, yup, they are plastic, hear that dull noise?" So you see, as a young girl I was being primed to have beading in my future.

Later I'd go only half reluctantly to bead shows. I noticed more and more beads showing up in the house. Then she really started making a lot of jewelry and it was so beautiful. Then I noticed more and more people doing it. She'd introduce me to them. But, for some reason I just couldn't get the bug.

Recently, I went back home, and I saw some beading styles that looked like my personal style, and who knows what that is? I started really getting in to them. I started seeing them in a different way. I started making bracelets and that was the hook! I love bracelets...okay, I guess I'll make some earrings and maybe a necklace, too! I just had to break into doing the bracelets first I guess, strange, I know!

So here I am, wish me luck! I hope to make some and sell them to support my crafting habits. The other habit is Scrapbooking! Yikes!
